Week 10: Framed

March 09, 2018  •  Leave a Comment

Of course I could have taken a photo from a picture frame off my wall and stuck someone, something, anything, in it and snapped a pic. Done.

But that would just be boring. My goal is not to just complete my challenge but to do so creatively.

Framing can help define a subject and it can be done in many ways. I like to use framing most often when I am doing a couples session. I tell them to forget I am there and I snap a photo with some foreground to help frame the shot. As if I'm hiding in the bushes and caught a secret moment. Photographer tricks.

Instead, I hid on the floor from my daughter as she babbled on about her books. Sitting at the dining room table like the big girl she thinks she is. Making the cutest faces anyone has ever seen on a baby girl. Really. I swear.

Next week: Faceless Portrait
