Starting off my 52 week Challenge I thought would be a piece of cake. Usually, after making a New Year's Resolution it takes at least a couple weeks, months even, before you start to struggle. Right? Well, this was hopefully the toughest part of this journey and I am so glad its over. Or at least, I am the boss and say it is. So there. Besides if I don't just do it I'll start to pick this photo apart and start all over and ain't nobody got time for that! At least not me.
Anyone who has met me knows I am not a terribly confident person, although I am working on it. I consider myself an introvert. Getting in front of the camera is a serious challenge for me. I can be quite critical.
Now, the benefit to doing a self portrait is that I am in control. If I don't like it, I try again. I delete it and start over. You know darn well this challenge didn't happen in just one shot! Most won't, because I am crazy like that. No, I really just want to present my best work. To do that, sometimes I need to take multiple shots, try different things, decide what looks best. Kinda part of the whole photographer gig.
I took a few minutes to set up my tripod and adjust my camera settings. I set my self timer and tried a few ideas. Ultimately, I liked the photos the most that portray how I see myself.
With that, I present...
